Two engines and a truck from the Gilroy Fire Department, including an additional engine from the Santa Clara County Fire District, responded to an oven fire around 3:33 p.m. Thursday at 6332 Oak Brook Way.

No one was injured, according to GFD Battalion Chief Phil King, who said crews had to break down the door to enter the 2,000-square-foot home as no residents were present at the time.

“The oven was in self cleaning mode,” he explained.

King said there was some damage to the kitchen and surrounding areas.
