If you’re passionate, responsible and want to work with at-risk children – Si, Se Puede! Learning Center wants you to apply to become an after-school program leader.
It’s not just for Si, Se Puede! either. The position is part of AmeriCorps that would also serve as work experience for college students, but applications are open to any qualified person 18 years or older.
The nonprofit Cesar Chavez Foundation, which supports the Si, Se Puede! Learning Center at 500 IOOF Ave., serves “at-risk” youths ages 5 through 13. The resident activity leader position would work with site staff in implementing after-school programs and assisting children with their homework, reading and other activities.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, interested in helping a low-income community establish new programs to help children and able to commit to six months of service.
The job begins late September, with interviews set for later this month. To find out more about the job and its benefits, contact Brenda Serna at 847-9162 or ss**********@***il.com.
