On Wednesday a large old tree was destroyed as well as the habitat it nurtured as a developer decided he could fit in another house or two for profit if the large tree was removed.
I am so angry and saddened I can’t articulate the senselessness of this action. Is it really so hard to coexist with a healthy vibrant shade canopy tree in the next new section of housing tract?
When the tree was stripped from the ground it took with it the habitat for squirrels, hawks, and a variety of birds. It provided shade and beauty, and on windy days, its large flowing branches graced the currents of air flow.
This isn’t about impeding housing development or jobs, its about coexisting with a benefit of nature AND enhancing the property. With the additional four other trees removed, the field now remains a stripped piece of land, barren, except for the land movers and water trucks bulldozing over any creatures homes and nests, burying them alive.
This housing area they’ve named is Cimarron, is located on Rodeo Road next to Santa Teresa Boulevard.
Shame on them! … Cimarron, which in my book is Sinfulmorons.
