Dear Editor,

Today, the tractors on Rodeo Drive in northwest Gilroy uprooted a very large oak tree. The oak tree was at least 40 feet tall with a trunk of roughly 30 inches.

Shame on all of us in Gilroy for not protecting our large trees. They are resources that can’t be replaced in ours or our children’s life.

If the city council approved this take down, then add another example to a long list of mistakes that show their short-sighted approach to housing developments in our city.

Shaking my head …
