Mr. Navarro has an interesting idea about renaming part of First Street in memory of Jeramy Ailes. However, why stop at just one person.
Although Ailes was the most recent to lose his life, many of Gilroy’s sons have lost their lives in the name of freedom. During the last century, I believe Gilroy has lost those who served in the military in every war the U.S. has fought. Not to honor all as a group diminishes the sacrifices of these soldiers and their families .If a section is to be renamed, then perhaps a more appropriate name might be Veterans Memorial Boulevard or perhaps Hero’s Boulevard.
There should be a way to honor the many from Gilroy who have fallen in America’s wars.
