Dear Editor,

Thank you very much for the article regarding Teri Davis Memorial Horse Camp. My daughter Jean (Forbes) Arnaz was Teri’s best friend from fourth grade until the end of her life. They were in sports, 4H and FFA together – and more. Lon and Pat Davis are like parents to Jean. The girls grew up in San Martin. Jean’s horse never left. She bought the horse when she was 15, earning her own money and Lon still boards it and cares for him.

Jean, like all the others involved with the camp are the most unselfish people I know. I am so proud to be her mother. And Teri is proud of them all, too.

This past year, Jean and her husband Scott left their 7-month-old son (first child) with Scott’s mother so they could participate in the camp. I have seen the time they spend the other 51 weeks of the year preparing for this annual event.

We need more Jeans, Scotts, Lons, Carmens and the rest of the volunteers in this world to make it a better place.

Peggy (Forbes) Junge, Kalispell, M
