Gilroy – VFW Bingo earned a share of the first-half Men’s EE League softball title Thursday by topping Team Beefy 18-3 at Las Animas Park.

VFW joined 2NQ, a 25-4 winner over South Valley Community Church Men of Thunder, at 5-1. VFW Bingo will play 2NQ at 8:50pm Tuesday May 8 at Christmas Hill Park for the first-half crown.

Vinnie Randazzo went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for VFW Bingo. Mike Perry added a single, double and triple, scoring four runs. Trevor Sheedy, Harkin Sheedy and Chad Haygood clubbed consecutive RBI-producing efforts in the Team Beefy sixth stanza.

Ryan Kearns hit three home runs and a triple to spark the 2NQ offense against the Men of Thunder. Ed Cordia launched a grand slam and Jason Kearns homered in a 5-for-5 night for the Barbecuers. Ricky Kroeger scored five 2NQ runs. Gil Montarbo went 3-for-3 and Jordan Montarbo doubled and tripled for the Men of Thunder.

Josh Diaz singled and scored on an Augie Gomez single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Victory Outreach past the Good Ole Boys 10-9.

Tony Zepeda homered in the bottom of the sixth to give Victory Outreach a 9-5 lead. The Good Ole Boys countered with a four-run seventh that featured a two-out, two-run double by Don Haygood and an RBI-single from Bob Schoeneman, Bill Miller added a single and double to the Good Ole Boys attack. John Hernandez crushed a grand slam, Rich Ponce a solo shot for the Victors.

Walton & Sons Masonry (5-10 took the first-half Men’s E League title Thursday after the Titans dropped an 18-14 decision to Heinzen Manufacturing at Christmas Hill.

Rudi Groppe went 4-for-4 and Vince Ferrante scored four runs for Heinzen Manufacturing. John Jimenez collected a home run, double and single, plating four Heinzen runs. Steve Welch and Ryan Romero each provided four hits for the 4-2 Titans.

The South Valley Community Church Sons of Thunder trimmed Claddagh Brew Crew 15-10. Frank Palacios and Jim Hansen each went 4-for-4 and Adolfo Tellez scored four runs for the Sons of Thunder. John Weberg drilled a solo home run and two singles for Claddagh.

Greg Sosebee roped a two-run home run to lead St. Mary Men’s Club by the Assassins 13-10. Danny Molina stroked a three-run triple and Terry Cooper went 3-for-3 for St. Mary. Michael Garza belted a home run for the Assassins.
