Police blotter: Corporal injury of a spouse or cohabitant

The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes this week, including a Christmas day murder, driving infractions, corporal injury and grand theft. Arrests were recorded in this week’s GPD blotter from Dec. 12 to Dec. 26.
Murder
Ernesto Rodriguez, 21, on Dec. 26 at 8:22 a.m. on the 8100 block of Kelton Drive for murder.
Corporal injury of spouse or cohabitant
Loan Vu, 24, on Dec. 22 at 1:07 a.m. near the 400 block of Hadley Court for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Battery
Joseph Sanchez, 38, on Dec. 19 at 2:40 p.m. on the 6500 block of Kings Place for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or fiancé. 
Grand theft
Lupe Martinez, 25, on Dec. 25 at 10:33 p.m. near the intersection of Murray Avenue and Park Court for grand theft.
Possession of marijuana
Ian Bambrick, 22, on Dec. 19 at 3:26 a.m. on the 5500 block of Monterey Road for possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
Drinking liquor in a public place
Al Benally, 52, on Dec. 19 at 2:19 p.m. on the 900 block of First Street for intoxicating liquor in a public place.
Under the influence
Brice Noriega, 20, on Dec. 20 at 1:37 a.m. near the intersection of Maple Street and Sixth Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Aaron Grode, 32, on Dec. 21 at 2:54 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth Street and Carmel Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Richard Aviles, 43, on Dec. 21 at 5:46 a.m. on the 100 block of West Tenth Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher
Tony Mejia, 24, on Dec. 20 at 10:44 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Wren Avenue for driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher.
Carlos Navarro, 42, on Dec. 22 at 12:24 a.m. near the intersection of First Street and Church Street for driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher and driving under the influence.
Gildardo Garcia, 20, on Dec. 22 at 12:27 a.m. on Monterey Road for driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or higher and driving under the influence.
Michelle Reed, 40, on Dec. 22 at 8:02 p.m. on the 7900 block of Westwood Drive for driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher and driving under the influence.
Anthony Rangel, 25, on Dec. 23 at 6:27 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher and driving under the influence.
James Torres, 26, on Dec. 23 at 11:11 p.m. near the intersection of Gilman Road and Sixth Street for driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.

Yolanda Gorena, 46, on Dec. 20 at 10:55 p.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Carlyle Court for driving under the influence.
Multiple driving infractions
Manuel Rodriguezcolon, 20, on Dec. 19 at 12:24 a.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue for driving with a suspended license, expired registration and not stopping in front of a red signal.
Raquel Ozuna, 42, on Dec. 19 at 10:04 a.m. near the intersection of Farrell Avenue and Wren Avenue for driving with privileges suspended and for not stopping before the limit line or crosswalk of a stop sign.
Erick Reyes, 20, on Dec. 21 at 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Forest Street for being under the influence of a controlled substance and reckless driving.
Elichaba Ruiz, 36, on Dec. 21 at 11:49 a.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for driving with privileges suspended.
Jhonatan Quiroz, 29, on Dec. 21 at 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of Kishimura Drive and Forest Street for driving under the influence, being an unlicensed driver and driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher. 
Carla Crispino, 49, on Dec. 26 at 6:13 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for a suspended license, driving with privileges suspended, and expired registration.

Daniel Gil, 26, on Dec. 25 at 9:35 a.m. on the 600 block of First Street for unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance. 
Rene Martinez, 39, on Dec. 25 at 1:07 p.m. near the intersection of Carlme and La Sierra Way for possession of a controlled substance, possession of an OG hypodermic needle, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and driving under the influence. 
Possession of a narcotic controlled substance
Casey Reis, 22, on Dec. 19 at 3:26 a.m. on the 5500 block of Monterey Road for possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
Petty theft
Gabriel Hurtado, 45, on Dec. 22 at 4:45 p.m. near the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for petty theft.
Robert Freedman, 27, on Dec. 22 at 9:50 p.m. near the intersection of Tenth Street and Eigleberry Street for attempted petty theft of personal property and petty theft of personal property.
False ID
Johnny Cramer, 28, on Dec. 24 at 10:25 p.m. on the 8200 block of Arroyo Circle for representing a false ID to a police officer. 
Multiple charges
Rudy Tellez, 38, on Dec. 20 at 11:16 a.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and unauthorized connecting of cable television.
Sandra Fernandez, 40, on Dec. 21 at 1:39 a.m. for driving under the influence, resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer, battery on a peace officer or emergency personnel and a hit and run. 
Brenton Esquivel, 21, on Dec. 21 at 9 a.m. near the intersection of First Street and Kern Avenue for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
Luis Sanchez, 27, on Dec. 21 at 9:03 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 101 and State Route 129 for driving with willful disregard of safety, driving while unlicensed and willfully causing /permitting a child to suffer.
Frankie Porcher, 25, on Dec. 24 at 11:28 a.m. on the 900 block of First Street for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and first degree burglary.
