Christopher High’s boys and girls swim teams both improved to 4-0 in Monterey Bay League meets with a sweep of visiting Monte Vista Christian on Friday.
The Cougars won 140-25 on the boys side and 104-54 on the girls side.
For Christopher’s boys, Jacob Holm won the 200 free in 1 minute, 57.6 seconds, more than 15 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. The freshman also was part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:53.42) and the winning 200 free relay team (1:37.52).
“He’s probably the best swimmer in the entire league,” Cougars coach Jeff Ross said of Holm. “He’s mild-mannered and doesn’t mess around.”
Christopher’s Matt Higginbotham won the 200 individual medley (2:24.57) and the 100 free (55.15), Zac Syth won the 50 free (25.48), Jared Jacinto won the 100 fly (1:09.33) and Steve Hajdu won the 100 back (1:11.4).
On the girls side, Christopher’s Natalie Garcia won the 200 free (2:05.56) and the 500 free (5:44.27), Sabrina Seery won the 50 free (27.99) and Hannah Marquez won the 100 fly (1:30.44).
