Gold missing, possibly stolen from residence
Gold jewels were reported stolen from a residence on Via Sorrento. The home owner called police to report that three 22-carat gold necklaces, four gold bracelets, and four pairs of gold earrings were stolen from her jewelry box sometime after June 2009. The man said his wife first noticed the jewels were missing in July, but he did not report the crime until about 1:50 p.m. Dec. 23.
Three auto burglaries, stolen vehicle over Christmas weekend
Someone stole a stereo out of a white Chevrolet Suburban parked on the 17300 block of DeWitt Avenue. The crime was reported at 10:29 a.m. Dec. 28.
Two vehicles parked in front of Starbucks at 251 Vineyard Town Center were broken into between midnight and 9 a.m. Dec. 25. The cars, a green Chevrolet Astro van and blue Honda Accord, were parked in the lot overnight. The windows on the passengers’ sides of both vehicles were smashed, and the stereo was stolen from the Honda, police said.
The owner of a green 1998 Ford pickup reported the vehicle stolen from in front of his residence on the 17600 block of DeWitt Avenue. The truck was last seen about 10 p.m. Dec. 27, and the crime was reported about 7:44 a.m. Dec. 28.
Residential video records possible auto break-ins
A resident of the 1000 block of Brookview Court reported watching four men breaking into unlocked vehicles parked on the street near his house. The man said he saw the men pull into the court in a white four-door sedan on his home surveillance camera. They exited the vehicle and began checking other cars to see if they were unlocked. The incident was reported about 12:42 p.m. Dec. 26.
Purses stolen from T.J. Maxx
Two women reportedly stole about 50 purses each from T.J. Maxx at 307 Vineyard Town Center. A witness called police to report that two women ran out of the store carrying the purses about 7:57 p.m. Dec. 26, and fled in an older model Ford Taurus. The women were described as black adults in their mid-20s to early 30s.
