Rudolph “Chino” Contreras passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family on Feb. 13, 2009 at the age of 80. Beloved father of Laurie Medina, Della (David) Filice and Rudy Contreras. Loving grandfather of Jennifer (David) Hebison, Nikki (Romero Aguilar) Medina, Erin Medina, Samantha & Stacy Filice, Joshua Batrez, Ruben, Allison & Anthony Contreras. Dearest great-grandfather of Austin & Amanda Hebison, Aiden James Aguilar, and Lucas Batrez. Dear Brother of Gilbert, Ruben, Joe, Ray, Hilda, Julia, Dolly, Olivia, Mary and the late Raoul. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed playing softball in his earlier years in Gilroy. He served in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. In his retirement years his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be missed deeply by all his family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th Street, Gilroy, CA 95020. Donations to the Veteran’s Hospital, 3801 Miranda Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304 would be preferred.
