GILROY – Due to its small enrollment size, picking Male and Female Athletes of the Year from Anchorpoint Christian wasn’t an easy process. So many of the athletes play multiple sports, and play them well, it’s tough to hold one over another.

However, seniors Christian McCrimmon and Chelsea Urbanski weren’t just getting minutes in their respective sports, they were often dominating.

McCrimmon took the Coastal Athletic League MVP award after scoring 30 touchdowns during the 8-man football season. He also played a pivotal role on the undermanned boys’ basketball team and played centerfielder for the league champion baseball squad.

Urbanski suffered some injuries that kept her out of the lineup for part of the softball season, but her work on the basketball court was more than enough to justify her selection as the school’s top athlete. She earned Coastal Athletic League’s MVP and sportsmanship award in the same season, a first in girls’ basketball for the CAL.
