The Loco Boys rallied past Good, Bad & Ugly 12-9 Tuesday at Las Animas Park to move into the fourth and final playoff spot in the eight-team Men’s Winter Softball League.
Trailing 6-5 after four innings, the Loco Boys posted five runs in the top of the fifth for a 10-6 lead. Consecutive hits to open the inning by Marco Lopez, Ralph Ortez, John Bueno, Elias Madrid and Ryan Tapia keyed the comeback.
Jimmy Castaneda delivered a pair of RBI doubles as the Loco Boys moved to 3-2, one-half game ahead of 3-3 Good, Bad & Ugly. Eddie Adame went 4-for-4 and scored three runs for the losers.
Those Guys improved to 4-1 by topping the Borrachos 14-5.
Those Guys broke open a tight game with seven runs in the sixth inning and four in the seventh to take a 14-0 lead. Matias Franco hit an RBI double as the Borrachos (2-2) struck for five runs in the seventh inning.
Chris Wong homered and Marc Vegas lined a triple, double and single for Those Guys. Joe Carbajal managed two hits for the Borrachos.
The Players-HD Auto Glass eased past VFW Bingo 18-7 behind five hits from Mike Radcliff. Leon Lamson homered and Rhino Souza slapped three hits and scored three runs for the 1-5 winners. Josh Dias homered and Steve Lemberger went 3-for-4 for VFW Bingo (2-3).
