Police are looking for a man who robbed Wells Fargo Bank in Morgan Hill Saturday afternoon.

The suspect – described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall – handed the teller a note demanding cash, according to a press release from Morgan Hill police Sgt. Troy Hoefling.

The robber’s note made reference to a handgun in his possession, but no gun was seen during the incident, police said.

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene southbound on Monterey Road, police said.

Police responded to the bank, located at 17590 Monterey Road, at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday to conduct an investigation and take witness reports, Hoefling said. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.

The suspect is still at large. Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect from the bank’s security footage shot during the robbery.

Anyone with information on the incident can call Morgan Hill police at (408) 779-2101 or the anonymous tip line at (408) 947-7867.
