TENNIS: Alisal sweeps doubles play in 5-2 win over Christopher

The Monterey Bay League champion Christopher High girls basketball team was placed into the Division II bracket and will host Los Gatos in the first round of the Central Coast Section playoffs Tuesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

The top-eight squads in the loaded Div. II bracket were given seeds, the other eight – including Christopher – were technically “placed” into the 16-team tournament. Four West Catholic Athletic League teams, Mitty, St. Ignatius, St. Francis and Presentation, respectively, received the top four seeds and byes into the quarterfinals. Seeds five through eight – Lynbrook, Pioneer, Westmont and Mountain View – were awarded first round byes.

Los Gatos finished the regular season with a 10-14 record.

A Cougars (20-5) victory Tuesday would put them on the road against No. 7 Westmont (15-10) on Thursday night.
