During City Council’s regular June 18 meeting, Recology South Valley, Gilroy’s exclusive trash-collecting company, will ask permission to send 168 delinquent Gilroy homeowner accounts to the County Auditor to place liens on their properties.
The total amount in delinquent funds from Gilroy homeowners is $47,000. A warning letter was sent out to homeowners who have outstanding Recology bills on May 2, with a final payment deadline of June 15.
Also on Monday’s agenda:
Council plans to vote on passing a $5,000 budget amendment to perform a structural analysis at the interim Center for the Arts at 7341 Monterey St. and provide an estimate on how much upgrades such as fire safety and structural retrofitting would cost.
Council will also vote to appoint one member to an unexpired seat on the library commission. Two applications were received for the seat.
The five-member library commission serves as an advisory and liaison body to the Gilroy City Council, the City staff and Community Librarian on matters concerning the Gilroy Library.
