& Red Phone: Dear Raising Awareness, As you might already know, pink ribbons are usually associated with raising awareness for breast cancer. And red ribbons can signify either drug awareness or AIDS awareness. Relay for Life, which will be held June 23-24 at Christmas Hill Park, uses purple ribbons to promote cancer awareness. In May, they will hold an event called Paint the Town Purple, where they encourage as many people as possible to wear purple and display purple ribbons.
Red Phone asked several people about the pink ribbon you mentioned, good caller, but no one had seen the house or knew about the tribute.
Red Phone even made a quick visual scan of the area but failed to find the house in question.
Manuel Haro, the online chair for Relay for Life of Gilroy, said he hadn’t heard of any pink ribbons being placed in the area as part of Relay for Life. So readers, we want to hear from you. Have you seen this tribute or know what cause it is promoting? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
