Tiger Woods will return to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for the first time since 2002, he announced on his website Monday. The tournament, scheduled for Feb. 9-12, will be Woods’ 2012 PGA debut.
Woods said on his website:
“I’m excited to start my PGA Tour season at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am,” Woods said.
“AT&T is a great partner to my Foundation, and I’m looking forward to playing in this event. I haven’t been to this tournament lately, but I have a lot of good memories at Pebble. It will be fun going back.”
Woods, 36, won the 2000 U.S. Open on the famed coastline course, besting the field by 15 strokes. He last played at Pebble Beach in the 2010 U.S. Open where he finished fourth
It is the 14-time Major winner’s second trip in five months to the central coast area.
He finished tied for 30th at 7-under par at the 2011 Frys.com Open at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin in October.
