Eddie Castaneda drilled a two-run single to pull the Soup within one run in the final frame. Ricky Castaneda followed with a two-run shot to center to plate the tying and winning runs.
Pro Electric, 3-1 along with Dutchman’s Pizza in the tight CCC scramble, trailed 7-5 after six innings. The Electricians rallied for seven runs in the seventh, keyed by a two-run double by John Carrillo and a two-run home run off the bat of Cris Adame.
No Soup (4-0) countered with six runs, ignited by a two-run home run from Kurt Gitmed. Gitmed finished at 3-for-3 with six RBI.
Dutchman’s Pizza remained in title contention with a 22-17 edging of Campbell’s Towing. Dutchman’s will complete the first half with games against No Soup 4 You and Pro Electric. Rick Trujillo bagged two homers and two singles for Dutchman’s, Pete Gavitte a double and three singles for Campbell’s Towing.
The Desperados struck for 10 runs in the top of the first inning and held off Central Coast Collision 18-10. Ron Erskine, Paul Fierro, Frank Higuera and Mike Davis each mustered three Desperados hits. Chris Thomas went 4-for-4, Bobby Granados 3-for-3 for the Collision.
Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring clinched a tie for the first-half Men’s CC crown with a 24-9 nod over Temple Inland Monday at Las Animas Park.
Johnny Andrade (4-for-4) and Scott Rader each hit a three-run homer for Aladdin.
California Silk Screening defeated Countryside Daycare Center 24-5 to leave both clubs at 2-2. Carlos Garcia went 4-for-4 worth four RBI for Cal Silk. John DeCarlo Jr. went 2-for-2 for Countryside.
Windsor Plumbing outlasted Las Animas Sweepers 9-7 to leave both teams at 2-2. Brian Marshall and Vic Coakley each went 3-for-3 and Guy Bostock scored three runs for Windsor. Joey Lovecchio went 3-for-4 and scored four runs for Las Animas Sweepers.
Joel Garcia went 4-for-4 and Tony Martinez homered as 4-0 Team Hair FX edged Frame Your Family In Eyewear 13-12 in Co-Rec C play Sunday at Las Animas. Luis Fumagalli hit for the cycle and drove in six Frame runs. Ray Abeyta homered and Sam Worden went 3-for-3 to lead Spirit of Morgan Hill over the Ballers 7-6. Jason Brindle went 3-for-3 and Debbie Cupp lashed a two-run single for the Ballers.
The South County Hammers moved to 3-1 by defeating State Farm Insurance Big Kahunas 9-8. George Espinoza’s RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh plated the winning run.
