the Boys’ Majors American division with a 9-1 win Monday over
National division contenders Fritter and Schulz.
The Garlic City Billiards A’s kept their grip on first place in the Boys’ Majors American division with a 9-1 win Monday over National division contenders Fritter and Schulz.
Ian Cary, Peter Palma and Eric Vegas each had three hits for the A’s (11-1-1). Cary and Palma both doubled and collected two RBIs apiece.
Angel Gamboa of the Cubs had a clutch double to drive in Daniel Valdez and put his team on the board.
Cary earned his first win of the season with three shutout innings, getting help in relief from Peter Hilkene and Kyle Stannard. Cubs catcher Nathan Davis had a great day behind the plate, throwing out runners at second and tagging out Tyler Sperry on a bases-loaded steal attempt.
