Gilroy expands gymnastics
Gilroy – The Community Services Department has contracted with ACC Gymnastics to provide expanded instructional programs for children ages 1 and a half to 16.
The program will run mornings, afternoons and evenings, seven days a week. The youth gymnastics programs are designed for all skill levels and include classes for parent/tot, preschool and intermediate and advanced classes. Program offerings will include recreational gymnastics as well as classes leading directly into competitive gymnastics.

No. 1 full-service broker named
Gilroy – The financial-services firm Edward Jones was named the No. 1 full-service broker in the August edition of SmartMoney magazine, according to Michele Ing, the Gilroy investment representative.
The firm placed ahead of seven other firms and received the highest possible ranking in all four categories surveyed by the magazine: stock-picking, customer satisfaction, trust survey and customer statements.
This year, SmartMoney gave brokerage clients a greater voice by adding the results of a customer-satisfaction survey from J.D. Power and Associates and a trust survey from Forrester Research.
For the second consecutive year, Edward Jones was among the best advocates for its customers, according to a research study of U.S. financial services firms conducted by Forrester Research, an independent research company.

Gilroy – The financial-services firm Edward Jones was named one of the best places to work in information technology by JOG’s Computerworld in the weekly IT publication’s 12th annual “Best Places to Work in IT” survey, according to Michele Ing, an investment representative in Gilroy. The survey was published in the June 27 issue and online at Computerworld.com.
Since 1994, Computerworld’s annual “Best Places to Work in IT” feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits diversity, career development, training and retention.
