Save Money with Gilroy-invented DripStop Valve

An invention from Gilroy earns honors and recognition
By Betsy Avelar Staff Writer

Gilroy – The DripStop water valve, a faucet washer replacement invented in Gilroy, earned the Handyman Club of America Seal of Approval and is recognized by many municipal water districts as an economical water conservation device.

The endorsement comes from Americas largest club of “do-it-yourselfers” according to Tony Termini Vice President of operations and sales of the ConservCo Water Conservation Products. This invention stops leaks and saves water.

The Handyman Club seal of approval is awarded to products that achieve 67 percent approval rating from members testing them. The DripStop Valve underwent an extensive consumer test conducted by The Handyman Club and received honors for its efficiency. The product was also tested by the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).

The old-fashioned rubber washer is used to seal compression faucets as the valve attaches to the end of a faucet stem. The DripStop Valve seals on the interior of a faucet’s seat, and uses water pressure to create a seal. Because it does not get smashed down onto the top of the seat, it even works with chipped or worn seats according to Termini.

It comes in four models and replaces all sizes and shapes of most common faucet washers used today. The faucet washer replacement is believed to save water and money, since it stops leaks immediately after the washer is installed. This product is guaranteed for life.

The DripStop valve is now available at plumbing supply wholesalers, independent hardware retailers, Ace, True Value, and PRO hardware stores nationwide.
