The Gilroy Browns had a good team effort from all against Oak Grove North. Gilroy had touchdowns by Jacob Vaca, who scored on a run of 15 yards, and Sean White, who had a QB sneak. Gilroy’s offensive line did a tremendous job at blocking to allow the scores. The Browns’ defense was lead by Anthony Contreras, Paulo Borba Jr. and a host of other defenders.

The Gilroy Browns (5-1) faced an aggressive West Bay Rams team Saturday, and came out victorious as running back Brandon Boyd scored two touchdowns. The blocking of Ruben Resendiz, Armando Gutierrez, David Pereyra, JJ Martinez, Justin Galtman, Sterling Montgomery, Christian Martinez, Colton Britton and Kenny Dipko was solid.
The defense was led by Colton Britton, Boyd, Dipko, Jacob Guerra, Brian Delgado, Reynaldo Lara, Trevor Large, Nic McMurray, Jaeshawn Hoenck and Brandon Kleder.

JUNIOR MIDGETS: BROWNS 28, WEST BAY 16
Both teams played tough defense in the first half. Thomas Harrington caught a 25-yard TD pass from Brandon Villar for Gilroy’s first score, and the game was tied at halftime.
After some halftime adjustments, Gilroy’s offense and defense came out on fire. The Browns had drive-stopping tackles by Mikey Pirnik, Christian Salazar and Patrick Mank. The defense continually held West Bay on its side of the field.
The offense took over and scored three times. Brent Newton caught a 20-yard pass for a TD, and Kristopher Dipko ran in two more for touchdonws. One of those was a 65-yard run on a sweep play around the right side.
Offensive linemen Raul Flores, Jordan Suniga, Justin Nelson, Brandon Nelson and James Grisham all opened holes for Dipko and the Gilroy runners.
MIDGETS: BROWNS 29,

Quarterback Tyler Eaton threw three touchdowns and ran for another. Roberto Birueta caught six passes for more than 100 yards and scored two touchdowns. Henry Lerma had one catch for 40 yards and a touchdown.
The offense moved the ball well all game. Anthony Knight and David Hernandez handled most of the running behind fullbacks Jesse Duran and Cody Hendricks. Offensive linemen Chris Hernandez, Lucas Wafelbakker, Joey Cosentino, Brett Newton, Michael Saccone, Ryan Frascone, Tyler Lincoln, Anthony De La Torre, Demetrius Cabrera and tight end Chris Silva provided big holes on the line.
West Bay scored both touchdowns in the first half. In the second half, Gilroy made adjustments to stop the speedy tailbacks, and they paid off as the Rams were kept off the scoreboard.
The highlight of the game was by Anthony Narvaez, who intercepted the ball at the 50-yard line and returned it to the 3. And the big hit of the game was on a kickoff, provided by Biirueta.
