Tarantula Festival and Barbecue
Henry W. Coe State Park will hold its annual Tarantula Fest and Barbecue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 9100 E. Dunne Ave. There will be live music and a raffle and silent auction to benefit the park. Activities include nature walks, displays and talks about tarantulas, snakes and other park wildlife, children’s activities and crafts, a fire engine, a fascinating perspective on how the park is recovering from the 2008 fire, and information about park closures and the prospects for keeping Coe Park open in the long term. Renaissance Faire
Enjoy more than 150 craft booths, rides and activities during the Northern California Renaissance Faire from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 16 at Casa de Fruta in Hollister.
