Saving money when grilling is a theme I enjoy discussing.
Reviewing grocery store circulars is one sure way to save on meat.
Waiting for items such as charcoal, grills and grilling accessories

During spring and summer months, many grilling items can be found at a variety of stores. Most stores start clearing out their stock beginning in August. Everything is usually gone around September. If you were looking to purchasing a costly item, such as a grill and you didn’t jump on it right away, you may be out of luck.
Many people think that clearance or close out sales on grilling items take place at the end of the summer months. This is only true for a majority of retailers. There are a few stores that stock grilling items, including grills, all year long. In the next few weeks or so, retailers will begin to receive this year’s shipment of grilling items. Those retailers who keep items on hand all year long are currently clearing out their old inventory to make room for the new items. This is when you can find some great deals on a few grilling accessories and grills.
The stores that carry grilling items all year long tend to be hardware stores and home improvement stores. This is a great help for the griller who enjoys grilling all year. If something runs out, breaks down or if the griller need in an additional gadget, you can rely on the hardware and home improvement stores to have the item you need.
Clearance sales on these items are not always advertised. If you are looking for a big-ticket item, you need to keep attention on the item quantity and price. In one advertisement this week, some grills were featured as close out items. Prices can range from $50 below retail, up to $200, both about 25 percent off. Since these items may be floor models, make sure that they come with all the parts, including the instructions and that everything is in good working order and not broken.
You will be able to find great prices on accessories too. Some stores do not feature exactly the same items on clearance, so you may need to do some research. It is great to find these items on clearance now instead of paying more for them later.
I knew the burner on my gas grill was in need of repair. Over time, output of the gas flame decreased. Since I have not been able to generate a pure, hot of a flame, I knew that I would be in need of a replacement burner soon. Since I realized this a few months back, I would visit the grilling section ever time to see if the burner was on sale. Luck and patience would be on my side. When visiting the home improvement store last week, a burner was on sale. The burner was originally $30 and now it was 50 percent off. Since I was able to save $15 on the purchase, I put the difference towards a bare root rose.
Since I touched on saving money this week, I continued the theme into the recipe. In one grocery store circular, country style ribs were featured. There are two types of country style ribs: loin and shoulder. I prefer the shoulder to the loin. Although the loin is leaner, for a quick-grilled item, I feel that the shoulder country style ribs produce results that are tenderer. The recipe also features a blackberry jam, an idea from my mother, but any similar berry jam will do. Use seedless jam, but if seedless is not available, heat the jam slightly in a small saucepan and passed through a sieve. This will make seed removal easy.
