Gilroy police are asking the community for help in locating a carjacking and robbery suspect who has been at large for more than two years.

Mark Sanchez, 28, and Jesse Vale, 37, were identified as suspects after a May 21, 2009 carjacking and strong-arm robbery, according to police.

Vale was arrested and convicted for his role in the incident, but Sanchez has not been located and it is believed he no longer resides in the Gilroy area, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

Police believe, however, Sanchez still has friends, family and associates in the area.

Sanchez is described as a Hispanic male, 6-feet 2-inches tall, 260 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address is the 7400 block of Miller Avenue in Gilroy, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding Sanchez’ currents whereabouts is encouraged to call the GPD at 846-0350, or anonymously at 800-782-7463.

People who have information that leads to Sanchez’s arrest may qualify for a reward.
