The 11-year-old Gilroy Little League All Star team defeated Milpitas 11-1 to win the District 59 All Star Championship.
The Gilroy Little Leaguers now move on to the Section 5 tournament starting Friday in Cupertino against other district winners.
The team went 4-0 for the tournament while outscoring our opponents by a total of 51-8.
The boys breezed through the first three rounds, which began June 25 and continued through June 30.
The Gilroy team then had to wait for the other half of the bracket to be worked out, as Santa Teresa, Evergreen Valley and Milpitas battled it out to see who would face Gilroy.
Milpitas had lost to Gilroy in the semis, but earned its way back into the championship by defeating Evergreen.
Quinn Larson hit a home run and also pitched for Gilroy along with Wyatt Mattocks, Peyton Nellis, and Mason Dubenko.  Everybody on the team hit well and our defense played great baseball.
Gilroy will open the Section 5 Tournament at 5:30 p.m. against the District 12 champions out of Almaden.
