A 57-year-old Gilroy man died Saturday at 6:30 a.m. when his 2012 Tundra went off Watsonville Road and crashed into a stop sign and fence.
The CHP reported Valter Garafulic may have had a traumatic medical injury, but investigation is ongoing.
The Tundra started westbound on Calle Celestina and made an unsafe turning motion to the right, according to a CHP report. It ran off the roadway to the right, hit the stop sign and then continued across Watsonville Road, where it hit the fence.
The car sat for an hour and 45 minutes until a passerby spotted it and phoned police.
