San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson signs a jersey worn by Ryan Dikes of Hollister during a fundraising event Sept. 9 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Gilroy. Several Sharks players and alumni were on hand to meet and greet more than 100 fans. Proceeds were to be donated to the Gilroy Foundation’s Garlic Festival shooting victims fund. Following the event at the Veterans Building, the Sharks attended a ticketed dinner at The Milias Restaurant, where owners Adam Sanchez and Ann Zyburra donated all proceeds to the Gilroy Foundation’s fund. Through the Sharks Foundation, the Sharks organization donated $10,000 to the fund.
