Dear Editor,

Sen. John Kerry distinguished himself in the presidential debate with his broad and commanding knowledge of the issues surrounding national and global security. Any reasonably enlightened voter who was undecided and watched the first debate could and should cast their vote for John Kerry, there can no longer be a credibility gap of any kind.

President Bush continues to assert in his domineering style that his way is the only way. It is not. We need our allies with us, not alienated. This president has achieved alienating most of the world against America.

President Bush had the opportunity to articulate his plan for the way forward and out of Iraq, all the American people heard was that it is “hard work.” Unacceptable. This is not an acceptable answer. What is the policy, the plan, the timeline?

Perhaps the most instructive statement was when the president remarked that “the best intelligence possible is now a priority of the FBI,” the priority of each and every American should be the best intelligence possible in the Oval Office.
