Dear Editor,
I just read the Saturday news story headlined
”
Quarter million for sidewalk repair.
”
How can the city officials talk about spending more than $50
million on a fine arts center, a new library and bridges and turn
around and make a statement that they may not be able to fix
sidewalks if the firefighters get their benefits?
Dear Editor,
I just read the Saturday news story headlined “Quarter million for sidewalk repair.” How can the city officials talk about spending more than $50 million on a fine arts center, a new library and bridges and turn around and make a statement that they may not be able to fix sidewalks if the firefighters get their benefits? This is one of the most disgusting remarks that they have made! What kind of “scare tactics” are they pulling now?
It seems they can find and move money around any time it makes it look good for them! Well, it’s about time they fix the sidewalks that were ruined by the trees the city planted before someone is injured. Where are their priorities? As Celia McCormack said in her Saturday letter to the editor, “Where is the backbone of our city officials?” I’d like to know where their integrity and brains are. Why are they playing games with the taxpayers’ money and ignoring us ?
It’s too bad the majority of Gilroy residents do not care about what is going on. It seems they just sleep in Gilroy and work in the north bay and only care what happens there. It’s evident from the past messes that our city officials have created that they need to stop their ways and get down to some serious managing of our money.
The Dispatch did a great job putting pressure on the trailer park owners, maybe they can work on the city. It’s about the same kind of stinking mess.
