Dear Editor,
I watched the vice presidential debate with much interest. I could not believe the lack of real answers from Mr. Cheney, a man I have always respected for his intelligence, but have not always agreed with. I was hoping and expecting Mr. Cheney would do much better. I was terribly disappointed in Mr. Cheney’s inability to answer, among others, the Halliburton questions, and to give STRAIGHT answers. Can you believe he had the gall to suggest in his closing statement America’s economy was on an UPWARD path? Does he think we are all stupid?
John Edwards impressed me with his plain talk, straightforward responses and ideas about where to go from here. This registered Republican is sick and tired of the lies from our commander-in-chief.
This year, I refuse to be a follower. I will make up my own mind. Because my family is worse off than it was four years ago, because I am angry about being lied to about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction and because our jobs are in jeopardy because of this economy, I will PROUDLY cross party lines and vote for John Kerry and John Edwards.
I am ready for things to get better.
