Adolph Louis Kretschmer passed away in Gilroy on Aug. 22, 2003,
at the age of 97.
Adolph Louis Kretschmer passed away in Gilroy on Aug. 22, 2003, at the age of 97.

He was born in Belleville, Ill., on Dec. 21, 1905, to Louis and Julia Kretschmer.

He is survived by the love of his life for 72 years his wife Josephine Kretschmer of Morgan Hill; his daughter, Betty Harvey and her husband Richard of Morgan Hill; grandchildren, Jackie (Doug) Hummel, Ken Merck, Karen (Peter) Paulhe, and Janet Delfino; and great-grandchildren, Abraham Ludlow, Lisa Wilson, Michael Gross, Marie Gross and David Delfino.

Adolph was a shoe cutter of fine women’s shoes and was an airplane mechanic during World War II. He was a proud craftsman and a devoted Catholic and he loved his family very much. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation was be held on Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Road, Morgan Hill. The funeral mass will was held today at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 10110 N. DeAnza Blvd., Cupertino.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Los Altos.
