Ralph Aguinaga, 17, brought home another trophy after winning a unanimous decision Saturday in Modesto against Roberto Sanchez of Woodland. Sanchez came in weighing in at 115.5 pounds, while Aguinaga tipped the scales at 112 pounds.

Aguinaga adds the trophy to his other belts – one being at the National

Diamond Belt Championships and the other at the Sacramento Rooftop Championships.

“Ralph was landing and hurting him with the right hand every time, so he kept on using it and pounding away at his opponent,” said Left 2 Right Boxing Club coach Jerry Rodriguez. “Ralph is very fast, and that is his advantage over his opponents.”

Aguinaga’s next fight is Saturday in San Francisco in a rematch against a fighter he lost to in a close match. Aguinaga is also fighting Nov. 8 and in the regionals in December.
