RANCHO MURIETTA – Gilroy Little League’s 11-and-under Softball All-Stars took second place in the Northern California District 7 State championships held in Rancho Murieta held earlier this month.

The team went 1-2 in three games.

Mackenzie Holt, Ashley Irby and Allison Ransom helped lead the team by sharing pitching duties, while Brook Loesch acted as a backstop throughout the tournament, providing steady play at catcher.

“All the girls played with heart and gave it their best,” Manager Glen Irby said, adding that he was “very proud of each and every one of them.”

The team would like to thank those who purchased raffle tickets in front of Safeway for a fundraiser that went toward covering travel expenses.
