Alma passed away July 19, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents Virginio and Lena Chiesa of Gilroy, CA. She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Barlet, Jr., mother of Virginia Barlet and Lena Barlet of Morgan Hill, CA. She loved her dog “Lady”, who is missing her.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be deeply missed and who could never be replaced. She went through an illness in 1994 and beat the odds. God let her stay a while longer, but god called her to him this time.
Alma was born and raised in Gilroy. She worked at the Strand Theater while a teenager in 1946. she was the usherette along with her mother, Lena Chiesa who was the assistant manager, and sold snacks at the snack counter. The theater was managed by Mr. Smeltzer.
Her father, Virginio was a long time window washer and janitor and was known for his old car, a 1936 Chevrolet.
Per her wishes and family a private family service was held.
