Anna Maria Valdez, 81, of Gilroy. Passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
Wife of Victor Valdez Sr. of Gilroy. Mother of Victor Valdez Jr. (JoAnn) of Fremont, CA, Joyce Ybarra (Raymond) of Morgan Hill, Eugene Valdez (Lisa) of Pleasanton, CA, Anthony Valdez (Gayle) of Gilroy and the late Daniel Valdez. Grandmother of Jeanine Vanek-Valdez, Jesse, Eli and Briana Sanchez, Amy and Jessica Sharp, Melanie and Grace Valdez, Jeremy Dirks, Josh Zimmerman and Anthony Valdez. Great-grandmother of Mason Zimmerman and Nicole Dirks.
Sister of Paula Garcia, Gloria Anaya, Ofelia Villalobos, Robert De La Rosa, Mary Fanizzi and the late Carlos De La Rosa Jr. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. A native of Crystal City, TX.
Resident of Gilroy since the early 1950’s. Member of St. Mary’s Church and past member of Mother’s Guild.
Volunteer at St. Joseph’s Family Center for many years.
Vigil Tuesday, June 29, 2010 – 7:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 30, 2010 – 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
