APTOS – Ariana Vera’s goal inside the first 10 minutes of Monday’s game at Aptos looked like it would lead to the first win of the season for Gilroy High’s varsity girls soccer team.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs, Aptos came surging back in the final five minutes to score the equalizer.

As a reuslt, the Mustangs were forced to settle for a draw, their second of the season (0-1-2).

Gilroy will be back on the field Wednesday when it plays its first home game of the season at 4 p.m. against Seaside.
