Not Del Webb, but this is Village Green housing community built several years ago on Santa Teresa Blvd. and Hecker Pass Hwy in Gilroy, has become a thriving senior community.

Residents of Village Green of Gilroy will display their creative achievements during an art show at the senior living home at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Village Green is located at 7600 Isabella Way in Gilroy.
Village Green offers a diverse array of creative and cognitive activities for its residents to engage in. Several times a month, local artists David Hofstad and Margaret “Margo” Garces volunteer their time to teach pastel and watercolor lessons to the seniors of Village Green. Pieces by residents who attend these sessions will be featured in the show.
In addition to recently produced artwork, resident Billie McPherson will display her award winning pieces from her earlier years. McPherson, a long-time member of the Santa Clara Art Association, has won numerous awards for her work in a variety of mediums. Over the years, her art has been displayed at The Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara. Several of her sculptures and watercolor and oil paintings will be featured in the art show as well.
