Community Playhouse on today.
MORGAN HILL – Principal dancers with Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley will perform as living “dolls” in a scene from Alberto Mendez’s “Muñecos” as part of the grand opening ceremonies of the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse on today.
The free Ribbon-Cutting event will be held at 17090 Monterey Road beginning at 6:30pm. The performance Open House begins at 7:30pm (a $5 donation is requested.)
Both Ramon Moreno and Patricia Perez also will be featured in dancers this Valentine’s Weekend at Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley’s program, Feb. 13 through Feb. 16 at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts in downtown San Jose.
On that program will be Agnes de Mille’s “Rodeo”, Flemming Flindt’s “Miraculous Mandarin”, and Dennis Nahat’s “Summerscape.” Free chocolates, free souvenier ‘lovers’ photographs, and live chamber music in the lobby will be part of this special holiday program.

Patricia Perez, of Havana, Cuba, began her classical ballet training at the School of Alejo Carpentier in Havana, Cuba at the age of 10 and continued at the school of Prodanza directed by Laura Alonso.
At 17, she was invited to the Ballet Festival in Peru. Ms. Perez graduated as a ballerina and teacher of classical ballet from Prodanza in Havana, after which she became a member of Compania de Ballet Classico de la Havana. In 1998, she went to International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Miss., where she met Cleveland Ballet Artistic Director Dennis Nahat, who offered her a contract with the company.
Perez has been a guest dancer with Canton Ballet, Ashland Ballet and Jefferson Ballet Theatre of New Orleans.
Ramón Moreno, of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, joined San Jose Cleveland Ballet in 1999. Moreno has participated extensively in competitions worldwide, including appearances in Cuba, Peru, Brazil, Finland and the United States, and has been awarded seven medals including four gold.
He has performed with the Classical Ballet of Havana, toured internationally and appeared as a guest artist with the Cuballet of Pittsburgh. His vast repertoire includes Apollo, Carmen, Who Cares?, Flower Festival, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Swan Lake and Involucion. As a guest artist with San Jose Cleveland Ballet in 1998, his performance in Involucion was named one of the “10 best dance events” in the California Bay Area.
