was 64.

Mrs. Garcia was born in Michigan and moved to Gilroy in 1953.

She was employed for more than 17 years at the Gilroy Cannery.

Mrs. Garcia enjoyed dancing and playing Bingo.

She is survived by her mother, Manuela Montalvo of Gilroy; children, Cindy Morales of San Jose, Anthony Garcia of Gilroy, Lupe Rivera of San Antonio, Texas and Irma Fragoso of Harlingen, Texas; grandchildren, Sal, Monica, Robert and Rebecca Morales, all of San Jose, Ernest and Michael Rivera of San Antonio, Texas, Richard and Juan Fragoso Jr. of Harlingen, Texas, Eloisa Garcia of Santa Rosa, Ernest Garcia, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Nicolas Garcia of San Jose; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sophia and her husband Pete Ramirez of Gilroy, Olga Hernandez of Hollister, Maria and her husband Miguel Cervantes of Gilroy and her brother Frank and his wife Terri Montalvo of Del Rio, Texas; aunts Maria Heredia of Willing, Ill., Francisca Ramirez of Willing, Ill., and Jenny Hernandez of Morgan Hill, and sister-in-law of Pauline Garcia of Gilroy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Garcia, her father Frank Montalvo, her son Ernest Garcia, Jr., and sister Rose Tomesetti.

Vigil services will be held at 7pm today at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Friday at the funeral home.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Mary Church, followed by burial at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
