Oh where, oh where does the buck stop ’round here?

Rough 49ers loss. This made matters worse: having to listen to Joe Buck on the TV broadcast. He's unfathomably annoying. Can't Sony or another leading edge TV manufacturer figure out a way to put the AM radio in the TV tuner and sync up the broadcast so you can watch the game and tune into the local radio broadcasting team? Perhaps some bright techie type in audience land has solved this problem. If so, let me know so I can pass on the good news and help stop the Buck stop here.

Council OKs sewer rate hikes

The Gilroy City Council voted 4-3 Monday night to raise residents' and business owners' sewer rates more than 40 percent over the next five years, and city staff say the increases will help fund more than $30 million in repairs and replacements for the region's wastewater system.

Gilroy City Councilman Dion Bracco filed a public records request last month for information on mayoral opponent and Councilman Perry Woodward's private home security system, including billing records and whether police have ever responded to his Eagle Ridge residence for false alarms, according to documents obtained by the Dispatch.

City goofs on fence fines

A former developer fined more than $45,000 by the City of Gilroy stemming from an out-of-code barbed wire fence he built after suffering a brutal beating at his home in 2008 will only pay a fraction of that because the city misread its own municipal code and incorrectly charged him for a large portion of attorney fees.
