GILROY—South Valley Middle School is in the dark after nearly $4,000 worth of surveillance equipment was stolen from the campus June 26, Gilroy Police Department Sgt. Royce Heath said. Two unidentified males clambered onto the roof around 2:15 a.m. and pried six cameras from their housing under the cover of darkness.
Police arrested a San Martin woman Wednesday on suspicion of stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from a Morgan Hill storage facility - some of which may have been later sold at a nearby garage sale, according to authorities.

“Dear Red Phone, Why do people steal so much from Walmart? Seems like there's reports in the paper every week about people stealing all kinds of items, big and small, from Walmart. Burglary: An unknown suspect, Jan. 4 at 9:30 a.m. near the 5100 block of Redwood Retreat Road in Gilroy for breaking and entering a home and stealing $75 in coins and collector currency.
