GILROY – Theodore Brodin, 56 was the homeless man found dead alongside Uvas Creek, the county Coroner’s Office confirmed Thursday.
Brodin died of a natural cause – namely, spontaneous peritonitis due to chronic alcohol abuse, according to coroner’s officials. Gilroy police described the cause more generally as liver failure.
Coroner’s officials waited to contact Brodin’s next of kin before releasing his name and cause of death Wednesday.
