Rodriguez homers, triples, singles twice in 17-16 victory over

GILROY – Craig Avila Bail Bonds clinched a tie for the second-half Men’s B League pennant with a 17-16 squeaker over Salas Trucking Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.
The Bondsmen (4-0) trailed 16-14 entering the bottom of the seventh. Consecutive singles by Esco Hernandez, Ruben Ramirez and Stevie Martinez made it 16-15. Leroy Dozal completed the rally with a two-run double.
Rich Rodriquez anchored the Craig Avila Bail Bonds offense with a home run, triple and two singles, plating four runs. Carlos Trevino bashed a single, double and triple, Arnold Martinez three singles and Justin Ventura a home run for Salas Trucking (1-3).
Team Talamo Foods turned back Good Fellas 6-4 to move to 2-2, two games off the Bondsmen pace.
Team Talamo pulled even at 4-4 with a three-run strike in the third. Henry Calderon posted a two-run single.
Danny Ramos drilled a two-out single and scored on a Mike Peria single in the fourth to give the lead to Team Talamo. Raul Bueno tripled and scored on a Calderon sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Mario Talamo went 2-for-2 for the winners, Gabe Duenas 3-for-4 for Good Fellas (1-3).
Dequin’s Auto Body moved into first place in the Men’s D League at 2-0 Tuesday with a 12-6 nod over Team HJ-FX at Las Animas Park.
John Serrine launched a two-run home run as Dequin’s capped the win with four runs in the seventh inning. Serrine and Josh Newton each went 4-for-4 for Dequin’s, Duke Newton 3-for-4. Mike Patterson collected a double and two singles for Team HJ-FX.
Manuel Gonzalez bagged three doubles and helped the infield to three double plays as Family Affair defeated Trevino Brothers Construction (2-1) 15-7.
Mark Sotelo added a homer, double and single, scoring three Family runs. Matt Corona and Darren Wall each mustered two hits for Trevino Brothers.
Ellite Barbers and Hair Stylists claimed a forfeit win over In The Zone.
