"Crystal City, The Warriors of Escalor"

In “Crystal City, The Warriors of Escalor”, by Dennis Amoroso, political oppression has followed man to the mining colony of Mars. But this time, instead of waging war, the rebels use revolutionary energy technology based on the radical science of a brilliant lady physicist to escape the shackles of their military masters. They travel to a new world where the mutation of their DNA stops the aging process, creating a new era in the saga of humankind.

When death is removed from the formula of life, the importance of power, politics, and religion becomes secondary to life, love, and the future of humanity. No longer does man worship the idols of materialism and youth as did his forefathers. Ageless life creates new and powerful ideals, as well as strong family bonds. Yet, that same endless life has its cost. As with all things, it ceases to be precious when it is available in abundance. Thus, the quest for a reason to continue to live leads one great adventurer to a new planet, much like modern day Earth, where he learns the lost art of passion for life and discovers the life threatening dangers inherent in owning science that powerful greedy men desire.

Two worlds at the other end of the galaxy are both dying. Escalor is in economic free fall, suffering power struggles between its ruling families and the slow degeneration and death of its human population. Across the galaxy a small colony of humans, inhabitants of Torvis, are in social and spiritual stagnation with no answers for questions humans have never before encountered.

Lovar of Torvis is determined to find an answer to the questions that plague his people. His quest takes him beyond the familiar science of his home planet of Torvis, to an unimaginable world of intrigue, treachery, and murder; the exclusive domain of the Power Lords of Escalor. Will the secret he carries locked in his very DNA be enough to save both worlds?

The good guys are tough and smart, the women are beautiful and strong, the bad guys are evil and dangerous, the action is heart stopping, and the science is out of this galaxy. The characters are real people, with real feelings, fears, courage, and passion. The readers are sure to meet someone they love and find a cause they can believe in.

About Dennis

As a young teenager I worked in the fields and orchards of Northern California. I learned cowboyin’ from an old cowboy who couldn’t walk but knew more about horses than anybody else around. There’s a street named after him now. During High School I worked on the school farm during the school year and on the local ranches during the summer.  After graduation I hit the road traveling with every type of character and bum you can imagine and finally ended up in the US Air Force teaching fighter jet weapons systems, handling nuclear weapons, and writing lessons and training plans for 4,000 students. After the military I worked building houses while attending college, extending my education and experience in writing, then as an auto mechanic which continues to this very day.
