INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI—Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero will spend six day checking out boxing’s next up and comers.
Guerrero, fresh off his win over Yoshihiro Kamegai on June 21, will be a special guest at the 2014 Ringside World Championships at the Independence Events Center in Independence, MO.—the largest amateur boxing tournament in the world. The event kicked off yesterday and runs through Aug. 2.
“Everyone fighting in this tournament has dreams of turning pro and becoming a world champion one day,” Robert Guerrero said in a press release. “The Ringside World Championships is the type of tournament that sets the stage for big events that every fighter will eventually have to deal with in the pros. The amateur’s (event) is where it all begins and I can’t wait to see these boxers compete.”
The Ringside World Championships features 1,500 athletes competing in 1,000 bouts over seven sessions in six rings. Guerrero will sign autographs and greet fans on Wednesday and Thursday of the tournament
