The Cougars (6-8-2 overall, 4-4-1 MBL) sit in fourth place with three games to play, including games against third-place Pajaro Valley and first-place Watsonville.
Playoffs hinge on Cougars’ triumphs in at least two of those tilts.
“We have a tough road ahead,” CHS head coach Stephen Casey said.
A 3-0 halftime deficit ultimately meant doom for the Cougars on Friday.
“I knew it was going to be a tough game. We played them pretty evenly we just couldn’t finish and gave up some cheap goals.” Casey said. “We missed four opportunities in front of the net.”
CHS though crept closer in the second half with a goal from Cristian Manzo to make it 3-1.
“We made some adjustments in the second half and the kids played hard,” Casey said. “We had some life.”
However, the Condors answered right back to move the margin back up to three goals at 4-1.
Marcus Harrell headed in goal No. 2 for the Cougars in the 78th minute.
“They fought and finished the game strong,” Casey said.
