The Gilroy High boys soccer team atoned for its shutout loss to Alisal last Thursday in a big way.

Senior Jorge Sanchez found the net four times for an on-fire offensive attack as the Mustangs sent off last-place Palma 7-2 on Monday in Gilroy.

The victory keeps the Mustangs (11-3-2, 7-1 TCAL) firmly planted atop the Tri-County Athletic League standings, one game up on the Trojans.

Kristian Urias added two tallies and Jonathan Diaz De Leon added another as the Mustangs led 5-2 at halftime.

Diaz De Leon and Sanchez each have 14 goals on the year. The Mustangs have won seven of their last eight outings.

GHS faces San Benito in Hollister on Wednesday and concludes a three-game week at home against Alvarez, the only other team besides the Mustangs to hand Alisal a league loss this season.

Game time Wednesday is 3:30 p.m. and Friday at 5:15 p.m.
