what everyone would be doing on me. Gilroy High School is way too
crowded. People are basically walking side by side. There are many
problems with GHS, but the main one is being way too crowded. Based
on a survey that I did 80 percent of the students say that GHS is
too crowded.

“Breathe on me” is a popular song by Britney Spears. I didn’t know that that’s what everyone would be doing on me. Gilroy High School is way too crowded. People are basically walking side by side. There are many problems with GHS, but the main one is being way too crowded. Based on a survey that I did 80 percent of the students say that GHS is too crowded.
One of the issues that I ran into was too many students were in one class. Some students were left to sit on the floor until desks were provided. In classrooms they were jammed packed like pickles in a jar. And the education level for GHS goes down because of this problem. Students don’t learn as much as they used to. If students aren’t getting enough attention and all their questions answered, then they don’t learn the materials properly. How are they supposed to pass a class if there are too many students and the teacher can’t control all of them at once? Their education is suffering because of this.
Not only does it impact the classroom, but also students’ brunch and lunch time. The students don’t have that much time as it is to get food and eat it. Yet they are stuck trying to get food all of their lunch time. The meal time has decreased because of this. It’s bad enough that we spend 60 percent of our life waiting in line, that students have to spend 60 percent of their lunch time in line as well. By the time they get their food and bring it to a table the bell would have rung. So much for getting lunch! If the school wasn’t as crowded then they wouldn’t have this problem. Students would be more satisfied and enjoy their lunch time.
Students also don’t have a place to eat lunch. GHS doesn’t have enough benches and tables. Therefore a lot of people have to stand while eating. If the administration got together and decided to build another school or separate our lunches, this would not be a problem. Gilroy High School is way over its population. Being overcrowded makes school a lot harder. It creates numerous problems for the students in and out of the classrooms. Because it’s overcrowded, the students don’t get the education that they deserve. When it comes to lunch, they’re wasting most of the lunch hour waiting in lines. Maybe we should have two high schools in our small town of Gilroy.
